We deal with all things dirty and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Mud, grease, dust, heat. Our crew’s used to crawling under busted machines, out bush, in the middle of nowhere. When something breaks, we roll in, figure it out, and fix it fast. At GT HOSES, we back each other the same way we back our customers.
Wal McDowall
Director and Senior Hydraulics Technician
Wal’s the bloke you want when there’s a busted hose and no time to waste. With 15+ years on the tools and a background in ag and finance, he’s grown GT HOSES from one ute to a trusted local crew. Cert IV Fluid Power and other quals back it up — but it’s his get-it-done attitude that keeps machines moving.
Rach McDowall
Director and Business Manager
Director, manager, community driver — Rach wears them all. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with 20+ years in business and financial management, she’s the engine behind better systems, smarter tech, and stronger local ties. You’ll find her championing local Ag networks and women’s business groups.
Sally Dellar
Admin
Spreadsheets, admin puzzles, and the odd tech hiccup Sally keeps it all smooth. She’s the quiet backbone of the office, doubling as a baker, maker, and Army Cadet Captain after hours. Steady, practical, and never flustered.
Sarah Basham
Admin
Payroll, paperwork, and four sporty teenagers — Sarah handles it all. She’s the go-to for chasing job details, balancing books, and keeping GT HOSES humming behind the scenes. Colour-coded calendars and quick wit included.
Bindi McDowall
Workshop Dog
Laid-back, loyal, and a sucker for snacks. Bindi has been holding down the fort since 2017. Mostly responsible for boosting morale, demanding pats, and keeping Ginger in line if she chooses to show up.

Apprentice Workshop Dog
Ginger joined the team in 2019 as a wide-eyed pup with more enthusiasm than sense. He knows he’s handsome and sometimes lets that go to his head. He’s got a good bark and is showing real promise as a future guard dog, if he can stay out of trouble long enough.
How We Started
Hydraulic problems don’t wait. So we didn’t either.
Back in 2011, Wal and Rach rolled up their sleeves and built GT HOSES from the ground up driven by a clear goal:
To be Central Queensland’s go-to crew for hydraulic hose repairs.
With years of business and on-ground experience between them, they weren’t interested in shortcuts or quick wins. They focused on doing things properly—building strong systems, hiring the right people, and backing local wherever possible.
Today, GT HOSES runs a fully stocked workshop and a fleet of mobile service trucks across the Central Highlands. We’re the crew locals call for fast, no-nonsense repairs, 24/7. That means less downtime, less mucking around, and more value in every job.
